First ticket release on 12 October

On October 12, a bit more than one month ahead, the first ticket release of the World Championship 2011 will take place. This first batch contains the tickets of Group A (the Swedish group played in Göteborg) and 2.500 tickets to the final i Malmö.

Tickets to Group A (Sweden´s Group) could be purchased through Ticnet (www.ticnet.se) or directly at the ticket Office at Scandinavium (telephone +46.31.81 10 20).

To sign up for the tickets to the final go to the official World Championship 2011 website (www.handball2011.com) during the period October 12-23, 2009.

So far, two nations are qualified for the Championship play-off. The defending Champions, France, and the hosting nation Sweden. Another three nations will qualify through the European Championships in Austria in January 2010. The remaining 19 participating nations will be selected throughout the various WCh-qualification rounds, completed in June 2010. The draw of the Championship will be held in July 2010.

The hosting nation, Sweden, will play the preliminary round in Göteborg at the Scandinavium Arena. The inauguration match take place on the 13th of January and their following group matches in the six-team group on January 15, 17, 18 and 20.

The top-three ranking teams after the preliminary round will succeed to the main round. Preliminary group A and B qualifiers will make up main round group 1 and group C and D goes on to main round group 2. If Sweden qualifies to main round group 1 will be played in Malmö Arena. Malmö arranges the main round together with Kristianstad and Lund. The matches in main round 1 will be played 22, 23 and 25 January.

Preliminary round group B will be played in Linköping and Norrköping on 14, 15, 17, 18 and 20 January.

Preliminary round group C (were Denmark will play if qualified, and not decided by draw in the Swedish group) will play in Malmö and Lund, 14, 16, 17, 19 and 20 January.

Preliminary round group D will be played in Kristianstad and Lund on the same dates as the parallel group C.

Main round 2 (consisting of the top-three ranking teams in group C and D) is hosted by Jönköping and Skövde and will be played on 22, 24 and 25 January.

The President´s Cup, consisting of the last three teams from each preliminary round group get to play for the tournament placements 13-24 with appearances in Skövde, Kristianstad, Malmö and Lund.

One of the semi-finals (January 28), the bronze game and the final (January 30) will be played in Malmö. The second semi-final is not yet located.
