”Bengans Boys” add gold lining to the opening of the 2011 Men’s Handball World Championship.

There will be handball nostalgia with a gold lining as the Handball World Championship is opened in the Scandinavium Arena in Gothenburg on January 13th. Two all star teams crammed with former Swedish World Champions will face each other.

One of the teams with players from Gothenburg will be lead by Björn Jilsén, the other with players from the rest of Sweden will be coached by Bengt “Bengan” Johansson, the legendary national team coach.  From 1990 – 2002 he led Sweden to eleven medals in the World Championships, the European Championships as well as in the Olympic Games.

Official draw in Gothenburg

This friday, July 9th will the official final draw take place in the Scandinavium Arena in Gothenburg. The draw will be televised on Swedish TV4 Sport.

The ceremony will take place on the occasion of the Leader's Party for the Partille Cup. Partille Cup is the world's largest handball tournament, more than 1.000 teams are coming to Gothenburg this week to play handball.
