All Star Team of the World Championship announced

During the closing Press Conference the All Star Team of the World Championships in Sweden was announced. This team was composed by IHF experts. Most valuable player is the Frenchmen Nikola Karabatic.

Left wing: Harvard Tvedten (Norway)
Right wing: Vedran Zrnic (Croatia)
Pivot: Bertrand Gille (France)
Left back: Mikkel Hansen (Denmark)
Centre back: Dalibor Doder (Sweden)
Right back: Alexander Petersson (Iceland)
Goalkeeper: Thierry Omeyer (France)
Most valuable player: Nikola Karabatic (France)

I think for the best goalkeeper Johannes Bitter is the better choice. Thierry Omeyer of course in always one of the best but in my opinion the german keeper has more constancy in this tournament. Particularly the German Team played so bad but the goalkeepers achieve the top-form.

It was a typical political all-star team selected by the IHF. It is scary that they have no more insight into handball. Most Valuable Player is definitely Mikkel Hansen of Denmark. He is also the top scorer in World Cup. Best playmaker is Nikola Karabatic, France. Best goalkeeper is the upcoming star Niklas Landin, Denmark. And where is tournament's best wing players? It is definitely not those who is elected. World's best wing players is without question the 2 Danes Lars Christiansen and Hans Lindberg. But then there's too many people onto the all-star team from Denmark and it is not politically correct. Why not choose the qualified handball experts to perform an all-star team instead of a bunch of ignorant people with no knowledge of the game. All handball lovers know that this team is a joke.

If you look at the statistics for WC tournament of 2011 you will see that Tvedten has scored 56 goals against Christiansen who has scored 30, and Zrnic has scored 47 against Lindberg's 29 goals. Clearly that says something about why the two danes were NOT picked out to the allstar-team, and Tvedten and Zrnic were...

To Dear John. If you look at the statistics you will also see that Zrnic has scored 47 out of 63 shots = 74% and Tvedten 56/86 = 65%. The danish wings are: Christiansen 30/39 = 76% and Lindberg 29/38 = 76% The other two danish wings which have played almost equal time as Christiansen and Lindberg are Svan 23/29 = 79% and Eggert 18/23 = 78% Just another perpsective of the statistics

Congrats to Håvard Tvedten! I was also really hoping for Bjarte Myrhol as the best pivot cause he has played amazing throughout the tournement and scored lots of goals. Doder as the best centre back is quite laughable when Karabatic is clearly the better choice here

Also the selection of Tvedten is questionable, Tvedtden made a lot of 7ms what inflates his total scoring as well as his shooting percentage and Myrrhol was clearly the best pivot.

Mikken Hansen is indeed a very good scorer !! but Niko's also one AND he makes his team and the other players play well... look at the final : during the first half time, he didn't score a lot of goals but I prefered making Fernandez and Guigou score a lot / and in spite of this, at the end, he scored 10 GOALS ! He's also the one who made France win, scoring important goals in the last minutes of the match SO : being the MVP is not only scorign goals... It's making the team be greater... Anyways VIVE LA FRANCE =)

All Star teams rarely give enough credit to the defensive achievements. Didier Dinart is of course the an extremely defensive valuable player and the same goes for Gojun and Vori, but they have less chances to enter the all star team. Using shot efficiency as a criteria – as been done to faultily argue Lars Christiansen and Hans Lindberg into all star team - doesn’t take into account how the player get in position or shooting techniques. Both Luc Abalo and Havard Tveten use a wider range of sophisticated techniques. Luc Abalo also contributes with creativity while playing against an established defence in a much greater extent than his Danish counterparts. Lindberg scores goals after breakdowns, but most players do. I also support the suggestion of Argentinean goalkeepers. It is easier to perform well when you have a world class defence, as Omeyer and Landin. Vujin seems forgotten, but I haven’t seen him play excellent defence.
