MALMÖ IS A STATE OF MIND. If you’ve ever taken a walk from the modern coastal district of Västra Hamnen up through the city, you’ll know what we mean.

On the way you’ll cross large and small squares, coming across restaurants from every corner of the world. You can take a look at the galleries in the charming old quarter of Gamla Väster, and you’re bound to find whatever you’re looking for along the long shopping street or in the design boutiques on trendy Davidshallstorg.

You can also take a break in one of the celebrated parks that provide breathing space amid the buzz of the city. Here in Malmö we’re also particularly proud of Möllan, the multicultural district that almost never sleeps and that has its own special charm.

The best thing is that you can actually walk around between the city’s different atmospheres. That’s why we call Malmö a walkable city. On the other hand, the new City Tunnel rail link will be opened the month before the Handball World Championship 2011, and one of the stations is right next to Malmö Arena!

Welcome to Malmö, and discover the feeling. And, of course, good luck to you and your country in the Handball World Championship!
