Swedish star might play the WCh 2011

In a interview with the Swedish THW Kiel star Marcus Ahlm in Segeberg Zeitung we find some breaking news at the end. So far, Marcus has said *no comments' on all issues concerning his participation in the WCh 2011, referring to his bad back. His body needs the rest weeks that championships and other national matches offer.

But in an interview with the German newspaper, he shows an opening:

"Grundsätzlich will ich aber nicht die WM abschreiben. Vielleicht muss ich einen oder anderen the Lehrgang ausfallen lassen. Das wiederum müsste der schwedische Coach akzeptieren."

Freely translated: I would not write off the World Championship. Maybe I have to pass one or another training match, which the Swedish coach in that case has to accept.

Where my German failed - at the word "Lehrgang" - I got help from other former German professionals (thanks to Jeppe and Thomas). Lehrgang is "idle" and refers to the national trainings that may not be the most important.

Marcus does not say that he has decided to play the World Championship. And it also depends a lot on whether he can get some matches free from Kiel and the how much exception Staffan and Ola (the national coaches) can do for Marcus.

But doesn't it seems a little bit brighter out there, on the six meter line?
