En VM-monter växer fram

I morgon börjar Åhus Beachhandboll Festival och under engagerad ledning från den lokala VM-organisationen i Kristianstad växer en VM-monter fram.

På plats på stranden i Åhus kommer besökarna kunna boka VM-biljetter, vinna VM-priser i en gemensam tävling med Kvällsposten och få svar på alla upptänkliga frågor kring mästerskapet.

Har ni vägarna förbi Åhus den kommande veckan så är ni välkomna in i VM-tältet...

Playing schedule

A long day's meeting is now finished and we're on the road towards Bromma airport.

Today the Board has decided how they want the playing schedule should look like. If the IHF agrees and the organising committee get fair deals with the local organisations, the following cities will be able to call themselves 'World Championship Cities' in 2011:

Malmö

Kristianstad

Lund

Gothenburg

Jönköping

Linköping

Norrköping

Skövde

One semi-final and the final are going to be played in Malmö. Where the second semi-final should be localised is the only thing that remains unclear.

Spelprogrammet fastställt

Lång dags möte är nu på väg mot slut och färd mot Bromma.

Det viktigaste styrelsen beslutade var hur vi vill att spelprogrammet ska se ut.

Om IHF godkänner förslaget och vi får till bra uppgörelser med de lokala organisationerna är det följande städer som kommer att kunna kalla sig VM-städer 2011:

  • Malmö
  • Kristianstad
  • Lund
  • Göteborg
  • Jönköping
  • Linköping
  • Norrköping
  • Skövde

En semifinal (och finalen) spelas i Malmö. Var den andra semin spelas är det enda som fortfarande är oklart.

A World Cup arena grows

In the centre of Kristianstad is a new arena growing up. When it is completed in autumn 2010 it will be one of a number of modern venues in southern Sweden.
The arena is easily accessible. A few minutes from the motorway if you come by car. 10 minutes walk from the railway station or the hotels in the centre of the town.
With good facilities for media and VIP, bars, restaurants and 4500-5000 seats Kristianstad Arena is an important part of the World Cup in 2011.
Right now it's just a construction site, but it already feels that this will be a really good arena in January 2011.
