We are proud and very happy for all the exciting enthusiasm for handball, the true sport.

We hope that this in some way will keep going, that the world of handball will keep on communicating in social media even after the championship is over.

Croatia first team to arrive to Malmö

Tonight the Croatian team arrived to Malmö, and about half of the players choosed to train in the training hall attached to Malmö Arena. The rest of the team were working out in the gym at the hotel.

Championship on it's way

Today a lot of cars arrived to the WCh cities.

Volvo, the official car for the championship, delivered about 50 cars that will be used during the next weeks.

Getting closer

A lot of small things are happening around the WCh cities now – exciting details that clearly shows that we are very close to the championship.

There are more city dressing items coming up every day. The volounteers are getting their clothes. A lot of things are arriving to the arenas.

Tonight the floor in the training part of Malmö Arena was rolled out. On Monday will the local ice hockey team Mif Redhawks practice in one part of the arena, and the Croatian handball team in another. Next day there will be only handball in this marvellous arena.

This will be great.

Johans gästblogg – femte dagen

Efter en femdagars tur till New York så är det dags att förbereda hemresan.

Det har verkligen varit en resa med en upplevelse känsla som man tar med sig hem och berättar för sina vänner. En vecka i solen är givetvis underbart men man kan inte säga mer än att solen var skön och badet var kanon.

När man varit fem dagar i New York och spelat handboll inför 400 personer som visats på Eurosport i 59 länder så har man mycket att berätta.

Jag förstår lite bättre nu varför de är så överviktiga i det här landet. Det är frestelser i varje hörn. Lukt från kaffe, muffins, kanel, kebab, hamburgare, är överallt. Jag kan inte ens föreställa mig hur det skulle vara att leva i den här stressen varje dag men om man vill tjäna pengar så är det nog en stad med alla möjligheter.

24 days to go now and a lot of things arrives to the WCh HQ in Malmö.

All the official match balls from Select, for instance.

And the first 100 cartons with clothing for the volunteers. There is much more to come.
The HQ looks more as a messy warehouse than an office...

Goal!

Here's a short movie from the WCh cities Linköping and Norrköping that we just have to show you.

The theme is that there is a lot of goals in handball and that this is one of the things that people love about the sport. People in Linköping and Norrköping are invited to a 'goal-party' in January.

Counting down

And the large portal is counting down to Christmas?

Nope.

The clock in the City of Malmö is counting down to something much more important.

Today is a special day for many people in Sweden. It's First Sunday of Advent and the stores in the cities are open, there are lights and candles and kind of cozy.

The word Advent means "arrival", and we are really waiting... for Karabatic, Balic, Kim Andersson, Palmarsson, Lijewski, Hansen, Løke...

Sweden is a multi cultural society today and one well integrated group will soon show their origin. Tens of thousands of Jugoslavs came to Sweden in the 1960-ies and a big part of them turned out to be Croats. This proud, young Nation full of magnificent handball players has got a solid support from Croats both domestical and abroad.

The Croat-Swedish society is preparing for a manifestation of support for the Croat team and also a warm welcome to Croat supporters gathering from all over Europe. With an exposure of Croatian traditions and friendly message to all fans to celebrate together this will be a colorful contribution to the framing of both the arenas and Fanzones...
