Official WCh song – released tonight

Today is an important day – the official WCh 2011 song will be released during World Cup in Malmö Arena. Who the artist behind the song is, has been secret until tonight. During the break in the match between Sweden and Denmark the artist will introduce himself on the playing court. If you want to see it live, you should come to Malmö Arena!

We asked our friends on our Facebook page (facebook.com/handball2011) what kind of music they want to hear at the arenas during the WCh 2011.  We got many of reponses and ideas from all over the world. Many voted for music from ABBA, Queen and AC/DC. A group that  many people seem to like is U2, and Bono sure has a great voice for the big arenas. Some different requests are Black Eyed Peas, Gorillaz, David Guetta and so on.. And of course songs like "Sweet Caroline" was requsted"...

Opening ceremony

The planning of the opening ceremony, on January 13, is up and running. A production team is working with a large number of gymnasts on a specially written performance called "Colors of the World". The show will be about 15 minutes long. It will be a colorful,  cheerful, warm and inspiring welcome to all nations.

The work is led by Fredrik Andersson, who has many years of experience from Partille Cup and Gothia Cup. The opening ceremony will begin with an exclusive pre-match between the former Swedish world champions and the world champions from Göteborg. The selection of the teams are led by Peter Gentzel.

We all welcome you to an spectacular opening ceremony of the 22nd Men's Handball World Championship 2011.

Vi är nu över 10 000 fans på Facebook som gillar Handbolls-VM 2011. För varje dag som passerar stiger antalet medlemmar. Det är vi väldigt glada för! Vi tycker själva att det är en fantastisk plats att kunna kommunicera med våra handbollsvänner på.

När det närmar sig VM i vinter kommer det hända mer och mer saker på just vår facebooksite. Om ni inte är medlemmar redan så ska ni bli det.

Hands on communication

Today our new roll-ups arrived and the Manager of Marketing and Communications showed his hands on skills assembling the delivery. Eager to get embedded in our new logo the roll-ups were instantly erected and what a magnificent sight indeed...
