Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria to Sweden 2011

Here's a report from the African semi-finals, that made clear two of three participants in Sweden 2011. Once again thanks to Björn Pazen:

It was a hard struggle, but in the end the host nation has reached the men’s final of the 19th African championships: Egypt beat Algeria in a very close semifinal 26:24. Algeria was ahead most of the first half and led 13:11 at the break. After the 15:14 for Algeria the second half remained completely equal – and the host had to fight hard to control the match. But five minutes before the end, the sensation was very close, as Algeria led 24:22 – but then they lacked power and concentration.

Egypt, supported by their frenetic spectators in Cairo, scored four consecutive goals in the final stage and secured the qualification for the final – and the direct qualification for the World Championship 2011 in Sweden like Tunisia before.

African Championship: Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria in the semifinals

Here's a new report from the African Championships/qualification for Sweden 2011 (Thanks, Björn!):

Three of the four men’s semifinalists of the 19th African Championships in Egypt are known after match day 2 of the Main Round. In group I Tunisia and Algeria are through after both had beaten Angola. The two group favourites meet on Wednesday evening in the direct duel to play for the number one and number two of the group. In group II Egypt had beaten DR Congo and Morocco (44:21 on Tuesday) and remained spotless. In the last match DR Congo – Morocco the second semifinalist will be decided on Wednesday evening.
